IB Berger is one of the largest family-run companies in the equestrian realm in Europe. In this context, IB Berger focuses especially on three areas: equestrian sport, breeding and rearing stallions and trading.

Sports

The IB Berger riders travel regularly to tournaments throughout Europe, all year round. We collaborate with some of the top riders worldwide. New young horses are always promoted further in basic classes, however, precisely also at the highest level internationally, IB Berger is time and again itself present, or by way of references. For instance, IB Berger rider Sven Fehnl successfully represented the German flags in the Nations Cups of Linz and Rome for the first time in 2018, and, in many other major international classes up to CSIO 5* level, ranked among the top 25% on IB Berger horses.

Breeding and rearing

In breeding and rearing stallions, IB Berger became established when our first licensed stallion, Comilo Plus Z was sold to the Melchior family, owners of the Zanghersheide Stud Farm. Around 20 foals are bought every year to supplement the approx. 10 foals bred by us. The best ones are prepared each year for licensing and the presentation of mares. Besides a host of licensed stallions, in particular the 2017 Westphalian Champion Karajan, the self-ridden World Cup Finalist Comme Prevú, or also the National Champion Baccardi are worthy of note.

Trading

For over 70 years, in the third generation, trading has been at the centre of the Berger business. Business relations built up over many years throughout the world enable us to find the right horse for our customers. Many success stories, in show jumping, dressage and also hunter classes, started with us. We always have a selection of around 200 horses, who sometimes originate from our own breeding and rearing.
